Katrina Wood, Ph.D., a certified life coach, focuses on the “meaning and purpose” of her clients’ life journeys
Wood, who is also a licensed psychologist, asserts that a set of limitations, rules, rituals and other conditioning is laid down early on in everyone’s family systems. Sometimes this persists by way of a set of repetitive patterns that constrict a person’s potential, often from the cradle to the grave.
Some of this conditioning is helpful but some can be limiting and overly restrictive — particularly when well-meaning parents and caregivers are blind to many of their children’s potentials and capacities.
Wood and her team of certified life coaches seek to expand the original playbook, and help their clients see and feel so much more of who they are, and are capable of becoming.
Life coaching is self-explanatory: the coaching of “life” toward “living well and skillfully with purpose.”
Life, she believes, is a never-ending journey of curiosity and discovery. It just takes one skillful and caring person to turn on the lights for a client. The good news about life coaching is that results can often be achieved quickly. One or two key shifts in focus and action can bring significant changes.
Wood created her “purpose filled” life-coaching platform as a departure from traditional psychotherapy — it is designed to work on specific targets, with small, steady, manageable goals on an ever-expanding journey of self-discovery.
New: Wood and her team offer life coaching for young people and teenagers.
